Location: I-90 From West of Cliff Avenue to Slip Up Creek East of I-229 and Cliff Avenue From North 60th St. north to Dike Place
Improvement Type: The proposed project includes reconstruction of I-29 and I-229 from north of Exit 73 (Tea) on I-29
to north of 57th Street and on I-229 from I-29 to Louise Avenue and reconstruction and extension of 85th Street from Louise Avenue through Sundowner Avenue. Along the interstate segments, the primary improvements are to add auxiliary lanes to the northbound and southbound lanes. The 85th Street project includes constructing a grade-separated crossing of I-29 to establish a continuous east-west corridor.
The South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT) has a long history of public involvement in the development of transportation plans and projects. The 2005 passage of the Safe, Accountable, Efficient Transportation Equity Act: A Legacy for Users (SAFETEA-LU) requires a public involvement process. Public meetings for the project scope and/or design will occasionally be scheduled to collect public input, provide information and answer questions.
