Pedestrian Crossing Work on Truck Route and Capitol Avenue in Pierre
PIERRE, S.D. – Crews will be installing a new pedestrian crossing signal at the intersection of Capitol Avenue and U.S. Highway 14/83 Truck Route in Pierre tomorrow, (Tuesday, Jan. 24) weather permitting.
The work will involve removing the existing mast arms and signs and replacing them with new push-button-activated, rapid-rate flashing lights. The lights will alert motorists to pedestrians intending to cross the highway at that location.
A single outside-lane closure will be used in each direction during the installation of the flashing lights. The work is anticipated to take one day.
Sharpe Enterprises of Ft. Pierre is the Contractor.
