Department of Transportation Seeks Public Input into
I-29 Exit 77 (41st Street) Crossroad Corridor Study
PIERRE, S.D. - The South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT), in collaboration with the City of Sioux Falls, will hold a public open house on Wednesday, March 14, to inform area residents of consultant’s recommendations for a corridor study of the following roadway corridors:
• 41st StreetfromValley View Road/Holbrook AvenuetoKiwanis Avenue
• Louise Avenue from49th Streetto34th Street
• I-29 Exit 77 (41st Street) Interchange
The purpose of the meeting is to present the public with roadway and interchange improvement concept options that have been developed, highlighting options the consultant is recommending to the City and SDDOT, to receive comments on those options, and garner public input to help determine the future look of the corridors.
For those who cannot attend the meeting or desire additional information on the study, information will be made available online after the meeting at http://www.sddot.com/pe/projdev/planning_ss_I29Exit77.asp.
The meeting will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the gymnasium of the John F. Kennedy Elementary School at 4501 South Holbrook Avenue in Sioux Falls.
A brief, summarizing presentation will be made about 5:45 p.m., followed by an open house discussion with SDDOT, City, and consultant staff. An opportunity to present written comments will be provided. Written comments will be accepted until March 28, 2012.
