Seek Public Input On
Vermillion Area Transportation Plan Study
VERMILLION, S.D. - The South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT), in collaboration with the City of Vermillion, will hold a public open house as part of the Vermillion Area Master Transportation Plan.
The open house meeting will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, April 30, in the Council Chambers of Vermillion City Hall.
The Vermillion Area Master Transportation Plan study addresses a full range of transportation options and issues, including pedestrian, bicycle, transit, freight, and automobile. The purpose of the public meeting is to provide residents, business owners and university students/faculty/staff with:
• A summary of transportation system issues identified by the Vermillion community
• Locations of future residential and job growth
• Estimates of future traffic conditions
• Potential changes to future roadway, bus / transit, bicycle and pedestrian systems
For those who cannot attend the meeting or desire additional information on the study, information will be made available online after the meeting at http://vermilliontransportation.blogspot.com
A brief, summarizing presentation will be made about 5:30 p.m., followed by an open house discussion with SDDOT, City, and consultant staff. An opportunity to present written comments will be provided until May 14, 2012.
