Interstate 90 Eastbound and Westbound Lane Improvements Planned near Sioux Falls
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Transportation will place Interstate 90 traffic head-to-head tomorrow (Friday, April 27) at the northeastern edge of Sioux Falls from Exit 399 to Exit 402.
Work will take place on the westbound lanes east and west of the I-229 / I-90 bridge. The work is expected to continue until late June.
Auxiliary lane work is scheduled to continue until August 27 and will take place Monday through Friday (and possibly Saturdays) between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
I-90 traffic will be reduced to one lane through the construction zones.
Speed will be reduced to 45 mph in the construction zones while workers are present, and motorists are reminded that fines are doubled in work-zone areas.
Motorists should expect slower traffic and possible delays though the construction areas and stay alert for workers, equipment, lane closures, lane shifts and suddenly slowing traffic.
