Portion of Highway 65 between McIntosh and Isabel is CLOSED due to wet weather
CORSON COUNTY, S.D. – Effective immediately, the South Dakota Department of Transportation has CLOSED a portion of state Highway 65 in Corson County from one-half mile south of the Grand River to 1.7 miles north of the Grand River.
Recent precipitation in north central South Dakota has made travel impossible through the one-point-seven-miles (1.7) grading project at this location.
The contractor, Foothills Contracting, has flaggers posted around-the-clock at the U.S. Highway 12/Highway 65 junction at McIntosh and at the Highway 20/ Highway 65 junction at Isabel to warn motorists of the conditions.
Drivers who reach the Highway 65 construction area from either end will encounter a barrier and need to turn around.
Motorists are strongly encouraged to take an alternate route and visit www.safetravelusa.com/sd/ or dial 511 for road construction, closure, and opening information.
For more information, contact John Villbrandt, Mobridge Area Engineer, 605-845-3844 or Kelly Armfield, 605-848-0321.
