North Cliff Avenue Construction Begins In Sioux Falls

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Transportation informs motorists that work will begin on the north Cliff Avenue project in Sioux Falls on Friday, May 11.

Beginning late Friday afternoon, crews will set up traffic control devices and traffic will be moved head-to-head in the northbound lanes between Benson Road and East 54th Street. The speed limit will be reduced to 25 miles-per-hour through the work zone.

Removal of the concrete surface and underground utility work will begin on Monday, May 14.

As construction progresses on the west side of Cliff Avenue, alternate access may be provided to some businesses along the corridor.

Motorists should be alert for equipment and workers in the area and also be prepared for slowing traffic and unexpected stopping. Through-traffic should consider an alternate route.

Substantial completion date of the project is expected by Nov. 30, 2012.

The prime contractor is T&R Contracting, Inc. of Sioux Falls.
