Pipe Replacement on Highway 10 Near Leola

LEOLA, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Transportation will begin pipe replacement activities on South Dakota Highway 10 from Leola east to U.S. Highway 281 on Monday, May 21.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane in the locations of the pipe work during the project and controlled in a stop-and-go manner. Flaggers will also be used as needed during work hours.  Minimal delays up to five minutes should be expected.

The pipe work is expected to take about four weeks.

The work is part of a larger resurfacing project in which asphalt paving will be completed by late summer or early fall – about four to six weeks after completion of the pipe replacement.

The prime contractor for the project is McLaughlin & Schulz Inc. of Marshall, Minnesota. Jeff Miller Construction Inc. of Huron, a subcontractor, will do the pipe work.
