WATERTOWN, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Transportation began a bridge repair project on U.S. Highway 212, one-mile west of Interstate 29 in Codington County, on Monday, July 30.

The bridge is located over Willow Creek. The highway will be reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction, with a 10-foot-width restriction.

Over-width vehicles will be routed around the project to the south along the new south connector between 29th Street and Highway 81.

Motorists traveling on Highway 212 may encounter significant delays during the project.

The contractor, PCI Roads LLC, will be completing the bridge deck overlay and concrete repairs adjacent to the bridge at a cost of $369,938.

The Department of Transportation reminds motorists to always drive safely and obey all posted signage.
