Construction Resumes on Terry Peak Road (Highway 473)
And Highway 14A from Cheyenne Crossing to Savoy
LEAD, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Transportation will begin pavement milling work on state Highway 473 near Terry Peak in Lead on Tuesday, Aug. 14.
The work involves removing and replacing a shallow layer of asphalt, along with new curb and gutter in some areas.
Work will begin on Highway 473 near mile marker 93 for about three miles.
Milling work will begin on Highway 14A on Thursday, Aug. 16, near mile marker 24 at Savoy.
Traffic will be reduced to a single lane with a 10-foot-width restriction.
Flaggers and pilot cars will be used during construction activities. Motorists should expect 10 to 15 minute delays during daytime operations.
Work on the $1.8 million project is expected to be done by Sept. 15.
