Curb Ramp Upgrades in Platte and Armour

MITCHELL, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Transportation alerts motorists that sidewalk and curb-ramp upgrades will begin in the communities of Platte and Armour on Monday, Sept. 10.

The following highways will be impacted:

  • South Dakota Highways 44 and 45 through the city of Platte
  • South Dakota Highway 281 through the city of Armour

Work will begin with removal of the existing sidewalk and curb at intersecting streets, followed by placement of new sidewalk and curb ramps.

Motorists should expect shoulder closures on Highway 45 and on Highway 281.

Traffic will be reduced using lane closures in each direction on Highway 44.

Motorists should be aware of equipment and workers in constructions areas and be prepared for lane closures and slowing and merging traffic.

The project completion date is Oct. 12, and the prime contractor is Ti-Zack Concrete, Inc. of Le Center, Minnesota.
