Havens Avenue Asphalt Overlay in Mitchell

MITCHELL, S.D. – South Dakota Department of Transportation officials say work will begin Tuesday (Oct. 2) in Mitchell on the asphalt overlay of Havens Avenue from Ohlman Street to Burr Street.

One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction on Havens Avenue while work is being completed. 

Streets that intersect Havens Avenue will be closed for short durations while work is completed in the immediate vicinity of the intersecting streets. 

Motorists should expect traffic congestion in and near the work area and be alert to equipment, workers, and suddenly slowing traffic.

The overlay is expected to be completed by Friday (Oct. 5).

The prime contractor is Interstate Improvement, Inc. of Faribault, Minnesota.
