South Connector Opened At Watertown
WATERTOWN, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Transportation says the second phase of the new U.S. Highway 212 south connector route at Watertown is now open to normal traffic flow.
With completion of the second phase of the project, the new south connector route runs from the intersection of Highway 212 and 29th Street on the eastern edge of Watertown for about a mile southward, where it ties back into Highway 212 at the junction of Highway 20 on the western edge of Watertown.
The project also included reconstruction of the Highway 212 and Highway 20 intersection, which was opened earlier this year.
McLaughlin & Schulz, Inc. was the prime contractor on the $7.5 million construction project.
