I-229 Evening Closures To Continue in Sioux Falls

 

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Grangaard Construction, a contractor for the South Dakota Department of Transportation, will continue placing bridge girders over Interstate 229 in Sioux Falls through Thursday, March 28.

 

Currently, the contractor is setting bridge girders in the northbound lanes of I-229 between I-29 and Louise Avenue. That work is expected to be completed on Monday, March 25, at 6 a.m.

 

Beginning on Monday, March 25, at 8 p.m., the contractor will begin placing bridge girders in the southbound lanes of I-229 between I-29 and Louise Ave. between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m.

 

The evening closures will continue every night beginning at 8 p.m. until all bridge girders have been put over the southbound lanes, which is anticipated to be completed by Thursday morning, March 28, at 6 a.m. 

 

This work is being done in conjunction with the I-229 Solberg-Tallgrass overpass project. 

 

Overall completion date for the $6.25 million project is August 17, 2013.
