Construction on Highway 11 and 57th Street in Sioux Falls

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Transportation has begun a reconstruction project in Sioux Falls on Highway 11 from 26th Street to 57th Street, and on 57th Street from Sycamore Ave. to Highway 11.

Highway 11 improvements will include grading and concrete surfacing of the northbound and southbound driving lanes, installation of storm sewer and culverts, roadway lighting, pavement markings and signs.

During construction, Highway 11 traffic will be detoured via 26th Street, Sycamore Avenue and 57th Street.

Construction on 57th Street will consist of concrete surfacing of the eastbound turn lanes and intersections, pavement markings and signs. Traffic will be maintained in head-to-head fashion on the northern two lanes of 57th Street.

Access will be retained for local residents and businesses. Access to Harmodon Park will be maintained from 41st and 57th Streets.

The project is anticipated to be done by Oct. 25.

The prime contractor for the $18.3 million project is D&G Concrete Construction Inc. of Sioux Falls.
