Bridge Work Delayed on Highway 65 South of McIntosh

MOBRIDGE, SD - Rehabilitation of two bridges on Highway 65 south of McIntosh, previously scheduled to begin on Monday, April 15, has now been delayed one week according to the Department of Transportation.

Due to last week’s weather and next week’s forecasted weather, work on the bridges including guardrail replacement, bridge rail modification and epoxy deck seals will begin on Monday, April 22.

When construction begins, both bridges will be reduced to one 12-foot lane of traffic controlled by stop lights.  The bridge work is expected to be completed mid-summer with an overall completion date of November 1.

The prime contractor on this $5.3 million project is McLaughlin & Schulz, Inc. from Marshall, Minnesota. BX Civil of Dell Rapids will be doing the bridge work.
