I-90 Eastbound Exit 10 Closure at Spearfish

SPEARFISH, S.D. – On Thursday May 9, the Interstate 90 eastbound Exit 10 off-ramp at Spearfish will be closed to traffic, according to the Department of Transportation.

The next phase of the ongoing construction project requires the closure so crews can make repairs to the bridge over Spearfish Creek and reconstruct the pavement leading up to Exit 10.

Eastbound I-90 and northbound Highway 85 motorists wishing to use Exit 10 will be routed to Exit 12. Highway 85 traffic will be directed back on I-90 westbound to Exit 10 to access Highway 85 from the westbound off-ramp.  Eastbound I-90 traffic over 14-feet wide will be detoured at I-90 Exit 199 in Wyoming.

Motorists are asked to watch for slowing traffic, increased levels of traffic at Exit 12, construction equipment and workers.

Re-opening of eastbound Exit 10 is scheduled for July 1.

The prime contractor on the $12.4 million project is Heavy Constructors Inc. of Rapid City.
