Work to Begin on South Dakota Highway 1806
MITCHELL, S.D. – Paving work will begin on Highway 1806 in Gregory County on Tuesday, May 21, according to the South Dakota Department of Transportation.
Crews will place an asphalt concrete overlay on Highway 1806 from the junction with Highway 44 south for about 6 miles, which will take about 10 days.
Once the paving is done, about June 1, work will begin to reshape the existing gravel surface and place new gravel on the south five-point-six miles of Highway 1806. This work is expected to be done by July 4.
During working hours, traffic will be controlled using a pilot car and flaggers. Motorists should be prepared to stop and can expect a short delay.
The prime contractor is Commercial Asphalt of Mitchell; and the completion date is October 25.
