I-229 Passing Lane Closures On Friday In Sioux Falls

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Grangaard Construction, a contractor for the South Dakota Department of Transportation, will be pouring the concrete for the bridge deck over Interstate 229 in Sioux Falls on Friday, June 7 at 6:00 a.m.

The contractor will close the passing lanes of both northbound and southbound I-229 from I-29 to Louise Avenue between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The daytime closure will allow trucks to safely enter the median of the Interstate where the concrete pump trucks will be working.

The concrete deck pour is expected to be completed by 5 p.m.

This work is being done in conjunction with the I-229 Solberg-Tallgrass overpass project.  Overall completion date for the $6.25 million project is Aug. 17.

For additional information regarding the project, please contact Travis Dressen at 605-367-5680.

Complete road construction information can be found at www.safetravelusa.com/sd or by dialing 511.  Motorists are reminded to slow down and be aware of construction equipment and workers adjacent to the driving lane.
