Lane Closure on Sandstone Hills Drive in Spearfish

SPEARFISH, S.D. – On Monday, June 10, rehabilitation work will begin on the Interstate 90 bridges over Sandstone Hills Drive in Spearfish, according to the South Dakota Department of Transportation.

Rehabilitation work will be done on the columns of the Interstate bridges and will require a single-lane closure affecting motorists travelling on Sandstone Hills Drive.

The lane closure will be in place as the contractor’s schedule requires and is anticipated to last for two weeks.

Stop signs will be placed at both ends of the work zone and motorists traveling on Sandstone Hills Drive will be required to stop and look for traffic from the other direction before proceeding.

Motorists are asked to use caution when traveling through the work zone, and watch for pedestrians, construction equipment and workers.

The prime contractor on the $12.4 million project is Heavy Constructors Inc. of Rapid City.
