Work To Begin On Highway 16B South Of Rapid City


RAPID CITY, S.D. – Concrete repair work on Highway 16B south of Rapid City will begin on Wednesday, July 10, according to the South Dakota Department of Transportation.


The work involves removing and replacing cracked concrete panels and installing a new expansion joint on the north end of the structure over Highway 44. 


Traffic will be reduced to a single lane in both directions with a 16-foot-width restriction.


Traffic will be controlled with flaggers and the speed limit reduced to 45 mph at active work locations. Motorists can expect minor delays during daytime operations.


The prime contractor on this $679,830 project is Corr Construction of Hermosa.


Work is expected to be complete by Aug. 30.
