Microsurfacing On Highway 37 North Of Mitchell


MITCHELL, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Transportation is advising motorists that microsurfacing will be applied on a portion of northbound Highway 37 north of Mitchell in Davison and Sanborn Counties beginning Friday, Aug. 2.


Work will begin on Highway 37 two miles south of the Sanborn County line and proceed north 12 miles to just south of the junction of Highway 34.


The microsurfacing will be applied to both the median and outside shoulders of the northbound lanes and take approximately four days to complete.


Traffic will be restricted to one lane during daytime hours using lane closures. The speed limit will be reduced to 45 mph during working hours at locations of active work. 


Motorists are reminded fines are doubled in work zones and to watch for slow moving and turning construction vehicles.


Missouri Petroleum Products Company from St. Louis, Missouri is the prime contractor on the $142,000 contract.
