Department of Transportation & City of Aberdeen Seeks Public Input into

Aberdeen Area Master Transportation Plan Study



ABERDEEN, S.D. - The South Dakota Department of Transportation, in collaboration with the City of Aberdeen, will hold a public open house as part of the Aberdeen Area Master Transportation Plan.


This open house style public meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 3, in the Eagle’s Nest Conference Room of the Aberdeen Recreation & Cultural Center at 225 Third Avenue S.E. in Aberdeen.


The Aberdeen Area Master Transportation Plan study will address a full range of transportation options and issues, including pedestrian, bicycle, transit, freight and automobile. The purpose of these public meetings is to present the consultant’s findings and recommendations for a blueprint to address the future transportation needs of the City of Aberdeen.


For those who cannot attend the meeting or desire additional information on the study, information will be made available online after the meeting at www.aberdeentransportationplan.com.


The meetings will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the location indicated. A brief, summarizing presentation will be made at approximately 6 p.m. followed by an open house discussion with SDDOT, city and consultant staff. The opportunity to present written comments will be provided and accepted until Dec. 27, 2013.


Notice is further given to individuals with disabilities that this open house/public meeting is being held in a physically accessible place.
