Governor Appoints Aeronautics Commissioner

 

 

PIERRE, S.D. – State Transportation Secretary Darin Bergquist announces that Arlen “Arnie” Hauge of Sioux Falls has been appointed by Gov. Dennis Daugaard to a three-year term on the South Dakota Aeronautics Commission.

 

Hauge was raised on a farm near Howard and graduated from Augustana College in Sioux Falls with degrees in Business Administration and Economics. He also studied law at the S.D. School of Law.

 

“Arnie’s education and experience as a pilot and businessman will be great assets to the Aeronautics Commission,” Secretary Bergquist said.

 

Hauge succeeds Larry Nelson who served for 24 years on the commission.

 

Other commission members include: Larry Nelson of Rapid City, Vernon “Skip” VanDerhule of Yankton, Eric Odenbach of Eureka, Chris Funk of Madison, Chad Hatch of Sioux Falls and Travis Lantis of Spearfish.
