Remaining Work On Highway 12 To Start At Milbank

MILBANK, S.D. – BX Civil & Construction, a contractor for the South Dakota Department of Transportation, will be coming back in to finish work on Highway 12 at Milbank beginning Monday, April 28, 2014.

Miscellaneous contract work and the final lift of asphalt surfacing remain to be completed on the project. Temporary lane closures with flaggers will be used to direct traffic through the project.

Motorists are asked to be aware of project signage, flaggers, lane closures and suddenly slowing traffic.

The remaining work is anticipated to take three to four weeks.

Highway 12 was reconstructed in phases from the S.D. Highway 15 junction to the west about one and one-quarter mile. Construction included removal and replacement of surfacing, new curb and gutter, sidewalk, storm sewer in the urban section and replacement of both of the structures on the west edge of Milbank.

Cost of the project was $6.4 million.
