I-90 – Exit 14 – Colorado Boulevard One Lane Traffic

SPEARFISH, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Transportation says that Colorado Boulevard between Heritage Drive and 27th Street will be reduced to one lane on Sunday, Dec. 4, 2016.

This is being done to facilitate construction of the asphalt tie-in at the east end of the project. Flaggers will be in place to control the flow of traffic, but motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes around the construction.

The following map circles the location of the one lane traffic in red and highlighted in yellow is an alternate route. This work will be done by the end of the day on Sunday, December 4, 2016, and traffic will return to normal.

Motorists are asked to slow down through the work zone and be prepared for suddenly slowing, merging and stopped traffic, as well as construction workers and equipment adjacent to the roadway.

Heavy Constructors, Inc., of Rapid City is the prime contractor on this $28 million project. The overall completion date for the project is June 1, 2018.
