YANKTON, S.D. – South Dakota Department of Transportation officials say concrete pavement repair work on Highway 52 west of Yankton will begin the week of April 10, 2017.

Contractors will be repairing deteriorated concrete pavement on Highway 52 from west City Limits Road to the entrance of Lewis and Clark Park. The work involves complete full-depth and partial depth concrete repair and resealing concrete joints.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction as work is completed in the adjacent lanes.

Motorists are asked to watch for suddenly slowing and merging traffic, and be aware of construction workers and equipment adjacent to the driving lane.

Other concrete pavement repair work in the Yankton Area is scheduled upon the completion of the Highway 52 route in the following order:

Highway 52 in Yankton from Broadway Avenue to the 8th Street intersection and;

Highway 50L (Cherry Street) in Vermillion from Plum St. to the intersection of West Main Street

Interstate Improvements of Faribault, Minnesota is the prime contractor on the $1.2 million project.

Work is expected to be completed by July 1.
