U.S. Highway 212 to Close East of Watertown

WATERTOWN, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Transportation will be closing Highway 212 between Watertown and Goodwin on Monday, May 1, 2017. 


A signed detour route for cars is provided along the south side of Highway 212 on county roads. Truck traffic will be detoured both north and south of the project along highways 15, 22 and 20.


Highway 212 is being reconstructed from Watertown to Goodwin and from Goodwin to the Highway 15 south junction. Work includes removal and replacement of concrete surfacing, concrete overlay, permanent signing, pavement marking, new curb and gutter through Kranzburg and asphalt shoulders.


The prime contractor on this $12.9 million project is Knife River Midwest, Inc.


Contract completion date is Oct. 14, 2017.
