RAPID CITY, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Transportation says the intersection of Silver Street and Nickel Street, formerly West Boulevard, connecting Philadelphia Street to Silver Street, will be temporarily closed beginning Monday, May 22. This closure is necessary for installation of water, sewer and storm sewer in this intersection and is anticipated to reopen June 1.

Traffic from the Settlers Creek Area will be detoured via Founders Park Drive to Omaha Street.

Silver Street neighborhood traffic will access the neighborhood via Anamosa Street.

Philadelphia Street access will be via Nickel Street or Founders Park Drive, depending on work activities in the intersection, and will be communicated to the Philadelphia Street residents at the start of each day.

Emergency services access will be maintained between Founders Park and Nickel Street.

This is the third phase of a two-year project to reconstruct the interchange and about one-mile of I-190.

The overall completion date of this project is Oct. 27, 2017.

Reede Construction of Aberdeen is the prime contractor on this $34 million project.

Complete road construction information is available for this project at: http://www.sdi190interchange.com and on www.safetravelusa.com/sd or by dialing 511.
