WATERTOWN, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Transportation will be opening Highway 212 between Goodwin and the Highway 15 south junction on Saturday, Aug. 12.

The car and truck detours will be removed entirely early next week. Minor miscellaneous work off the roadway will be continuing to finish the projects.

Highway 212 was reconstructed from Watertown to Goodwin and from Goodwin to the Highway 15 south junction. This project replaced a deteriorating concrete surface and added surfaced shoulders with rumble strips to provide increased safety for the travelling public.

The prime contractor on this $12.9 million project is Knife River Midwest, Inc.

The contract completion date is Oct. 14, 2017.
