Railroad Crossing Upgrades in Rapid City

RAPID CITY, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Transportation says work is set to begin on two railroad crossings in Rapid City.

 

Work on the crossing on West Boulevard will begin on Monday, Oct. 2. Traffic will be detoured to Mt. Rushmore Road with work expected to take 30 days.

 

Work on the crossing on 6th Street will begin on Thursday, Oct. 5. Traffic will be detoured to 5th Street beginning Monday, Oct. 9, with work expected to take 14 days.

 

Access to all businesses will remain open.

 

Work on the crossings involves signal upgrades and drainage and surfacing improvements.

 

The prime contractor on these $115,000 projects is Complete Concrete, Inc. of Rapid City.
