Public Meeting for Highway 73/12 Shoulder Widening Project near Lemmon

LEMMON, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Transportation and Loiseau Construction, Inc. will hold a public meeting to provide information regarding this summer’s shoulder widening project on Highway 73 and Highway 12 south and west of Lemmon.


The meeting will be held on Thursday, March 8, from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Lemmon Senior Citizens Center, 711 Main Ave. in Lemmon.


The $15.6 million project will widen shoulders and regrade portions of the road along highways 73 & 12 as well as upgrade pipe and box culverts. In addition, new ADA curb ramps and lighting will be installed along Highway 12/73 through the city of Lemmon. Construction work is anticipated to begin in early April. 

The public meeting will be informal with a brief summary of how the project will be constructed with staff available to discuss issues and answer your questions regarding the project. 

Notice is further given to individuals with disabilities that this open house/public meeting is being held in a physically accessible place.
