BELLE FOURCHE, S.D. – Work will begin the week of April 9 on an eight-mile project on Highway 212 in Belle Fourche.

The project includes concrete panel replacements, crack sealing and shoulder chip sealing.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane during working hours with flaggers and pilot cars guiding traffic through the construction zone. The contractor may also be using stop sign situations on portions of the project. Delays of up to 15 minutes can be expected.

Motorists are asked to slow down, be aware of construction workers and equipment adjacent to the driving lane and to also watch for falling rock and debris while traveling in the construction zone as steep slopes, coupled with loose material and construction vibrations, can create conditions favorable for such hazards.

The overall project completion date for this work is Oct. 5, 2018.

The prime contractor on the $541,000 project is Reede Construction, Inc. of Aberdeen.
