MITCHELL, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Transportation is scheduled to complete work on the southbound lanes of Highway 37 north of Mitchell from National Guard Road to one-quarter mile south of the Davison/Sanborn County line on Tuesday, July 17.

Traffic will be re-routed to the southbound lanes on Wednesday, July 18, so work can begin on the northbound lanes. Two-way traffic will be maintained in the southbound lanes with a reduced speed limit of 55 mph and a 12-foot width restriction.

The work being completed includes construction of median crossovers, concrete pavement overlay, bridge deck overlay, bridge approach replacement and asphalt shoulder resurfacing.

The anticipated completion of the project is Sept. 1, 2018.

PCIRoads of St. Michael, Minnesota, is the prime contractor on the $8.8 million project.
