Postponed: Pavement Rehabilitation to Begin Through Pierre and Fort Pierre

PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Transportation says work scheduled to start on Tuesday, April 8, to finish the pavement rehabilitation project on highways U.S. 14/U.S. 14B/U.S. 83 and S.D. 34 through Pierre and Fort Pierre will be postponed at least one week due to weather.


The work includes joint spall repair, full and partial panel replacement, and sealing joints and random cracks. The contractor will also be placing new pavement marking on Sioux & Wells Avenues through Pierre.


The approximate completion date for the project will be mid-June.


The prime contractor is Diamond Surface, Inc. from Rogers, Minnesota on the $802,273 contract.
