Work to Begin on Interstate 90 through Mitchell
Mitchell, S.D. – On Wednesday, October 19, work will begin on Interstate 90 at exits 330 and exit 332 in Mitchell.
Crews will start building temporary crossover ramps at these locations as part of a larger construction project to reconstruct 14 miles of interstate concrete pavement between Mount Vernon and the James River, east of Mitchell.
The temporary ramps will be used during the 2012 construction season when all traffic will be moved to the eastbound lanes so reconstruction can begin in the westbound lanes. The crossover ramps will allow both exits 330 and 332 to remain open during construction.
The speed limit on I-90 will be reduced through the ramp construction area to 65 mph and further reduced to 45 mph when workers are present.
The ramp work is scheduled to be completed by November 11, 2011.
